TOM On-Screen Errors

A explanation (and screenshots) for common TOM errors that appear when a customer's payment fails:

  • Could Not Create Transaction: Insufficient Finds
  • Could Not Create Transaction: Do Not Honor
  • Gateway Rejected: Duplicate
  • Could Not Create Transaction: Customer No Longer Exists

Could Not Create Transaction: Insufficient Finds
The customer has insufficient funds available on their payment method. The customer can change payment method within the app and then you can try again.

Could Not Create Transaction: Do Not Honor
The customer's bank is unwilling to accept the transaction. The customer can change payment method within the app and then you can try again.

The customer will need to contact their bank for more details regarding this generic decline.

Gateway Rejected: Duplicate
The customer has been charged this exact amount moments ago - this may be an accidental duplicate charge. If not, please wait a few seconds and then try again.

Could Not Create Transaction: Customer No Longer Exists
The customer has tapped the Leave button in their app and is no longer available to be charged. Please ask the customer to tap the Pay button again so they see the screen "I'm paying with the app"
